How do I reserve a puppy? The first option is to look at the puppies currently available here. If you do not find the puppy that you want, or you want something in particular then you can join our priority list.
What if I reserve a puppy and then meet him and decide he isn't what I would like? You have a fully refundable deposit. If you do meet your puppy and decide that he or she isn't the one for you, you can cancel the reservation and go back on the waiting list or have your deposit refunded if you choose to do so
What is the Priority List?
You show your genuine interest by becoming a member of our website and paying a *refundable $100 deposit. When your selected breed is available, you will have access to the password protected chronological Priority List during Saturday, before the puppies are listed on our public webpage.
You simply click the 'Reserve Me Now' button and you have secured that puppy.
The Priority List is very similar to the public site, where photos of puppy and mum and dad are available for you to view to allow you to choose your puppy with full knowledge of what it looks like along with mum and dad.
All you are doing at this point is reserving that individual puppy to come and meet when they are ready to go home which you do at our Melbourne location. We have a dedicated area in which your family can meet, play and interact with the puppy to ensure you like each other and we are very happy for you to spend as long as you need doing this. Your payment is fully refundable should you not go ahead for any reason.
* Cancellation of your Priority List membership will incur a 5% administration charge.
Is it necessary to join the Priority List? You are not required to join the Priority List, but it is advantageous to. We have many people waiting for our puppies, and to make sure that you get the first look at our puppies before the public does, you need to join the Priority List. You also get more benefits such as that if the prices rise, you will always be paying the price from the time you joined the Priority List. Click here to enquire or join the Priority List.
Why do your puppies always say they're sold as soon as they are up on your website? It is true that most of our Banksia Park Puppies are sold before they are put up on our public site. We have a Priority List that our puppies are listed on before they go to the public. Click here to enquire or join the Priority List.
Why do I need to book in a time to tour the property?Banksia Park Puppies is a big property, with over 220 acres of land. We need to make sure that there is someone here to meet you, and that we have enough time to show you around the entire property. Sometimes our tours take 2 hours or more, and we want to make sure that you have the full experience and see our entire property.
How long does a tour take?We have a 220 acre property here at Banksia Park Puppies, so we usually say to leave about 2 hours for a complete tour and experience. We show you the entire property (so bring your walking shoes!) We do really push for you to see our entire property, and unless there are outstanding circumstances we insist on this. We want you to go home and know you have seen every inch of our property, so please leave enough time to allow this to happen.
How far away is Banksia Park Puppies?Banksia Park Puppies is located in Stradbroke in Gippsland, near Sale. This is slightly under 3 hours from CBD Melbourne in clear traffic.
Why can't I come for a tour on a weekend?Banksia Park Puppies is a working business, and during the week we employ extra people to ensure that there is someone to assist you with all your questions throughout your tour. We want to ensure that your visit is as detailed and thorough as possible, as we know there are often overnight stays involved or at the very least a long drive to get to us. For this reason we apologise but weekend visits are not available.
What happens if it's raining?Your tour at Banksia Park Puppies is completed outside, and there are limited undercover areas. For this reason if there is storms or high rain we would suggest you reschedule your tour with us if this is possible. Your tour though will not be cancelled by us due to rain unless there are unsafe circumstances along with the rain. For example our tours may be cancelled if we deem them unsafe due to high wind, high rain, thunderstorms, or high fire risk weather circumstances.
In a circumstance with unsafe weather we will try to give you as much notice as possible as we know that you have often taken days off work to attend the tour. We apologise for any inconveniences if the tour is cancelled, but please note we try our absolute best not to cancel a tour, and will only do so if absolutely required for your or our staff's safety.
Could my tour get cancelled in summer? In January and February we have a blanket rule that if the weather is predicted to beover 35 degrees the next day the tour will be cancelled. This is for your own safety and for that of our dogs and puppies. We may also cancel the tour if there is a possible or imminent threat of a fire in our area. We are in a fire prone area with a lot of native bush around us. We never want to cancel tours, but we will do so if there is a risk to you or our dogs due to hot or dangerous weather.
Why do I have to come at a certain time?o We do appreciate that our customers are often driving a 6 hour return trip to come and visit us. Our days here though run on a very tight schedule which includes feeding times, exercise times, socialisation times, and cleaning/disinfection times. These schedules are necessary to ensure all our mums and dads and puppies are safe, healthy, and happy here at Banksia Park Puppies. We need our tours to run at a certain time to ensure our mums and dads are settled and we are not interrupting them or disturbing them during their rest times. The time that has been set for this purpose and we hope you understand that this ensures the day runs in the best interest of mum, dad and puppies.
