The school holiday excursion to Banksia Park Puppies "the best place I've ever seen"
12 July 2017
The school holiday program at Child Care provider Gumnuts in Sale have had a great day out at Banksia Park Puppies on Wednesday 12
th July. A visit and tour through Professional Dog Breeding property Banksia Park Puppies, saw the primary school aged children have the time of their lives with one child even saying it was “the best place I’ve ever seen”.
The day was spent learning about the dogs and puppies in the care of Banksia Park Puppies, along with hours of fun playing and socialising with the puppies and mums and dads in both the surface training areas, and the youth playgrounds.
Openness and transparency is a key element in ensuring dog breeders are ethical, and tours like this one allow the public to have an insight into the standards within professional dog breeding businesses.
Owner and third generation breeder Matt Hams said the day was a success on many levels.
“Dog breeding must be done in such a way that promotes openness and transparency for all within the industry. As leaders, we promote not only ethical breeding and high standards of care, but also openness and transparency in tours such as this.”
“Socialisation is a key element in our dogs and puppies at Banksia Park Puppies in order to be happy and healthy, and having 35 children in playing with the dogs and puppies does wonders for their brain development.”
“The children involved in the visit went home very happy (if a little tired) after running around on the playgrounds with the future mums and dads, and promised vehemently to return on the next tour.”
“The questions that the children had as to when the puppies opened their eyes and why a puppy’s mum may have been exercising outside and not with them, showed a keenness to learn about animals and their welfare which is great to see in our young local children.”
“We thank Gumnuts for a fantastic day, and we look forward to welcoming them again in the future.”
